Competition Rules. Competitions are open to fully paid up members only. Final entry dates for competitions MUST be adhered to. Late entries, without exception will not be allowed. Any DPI (Digital Projected Image) or Print entered MUST only contain an image or images originally photographed by the entrant. Prints gaining 1st, 2nd, 3rd and HC can be entered again in competitions as a DPI. DPI’s gaining 1st, 2nd, 3rd and HC can be entered again in competitions as a print. Prints and DPI gaining 1st, 2nd and 3rd places can NOT be re-entered in competitions of the same format. Prints and DPI not placed and/or gaining HC can be re-entered in competitions of the same format.
Prints. Prints can be Monochrome or Colour and be produced on any medium. Prints may be trade or home processed or computer generated. Print sizes 7” x 5” minimum to 20” x 16” maximum. All prints to be mounted on card. Maximum size of mount 20” x 16”. Prints MUST be titled and spotted with the members number. Points awarded for monochrome prints are eligible for the Bill Cook Trophy and Photographer of the Year. Points awarded for colour prints are eligible for the John Oliver Trophy and Photographer of the Year. Any print entered MUST only contain an image or images originally photographed by the entrant. Up to 5 prints may be entered in each category (Colour and Monochrome competitions) but only 3 will count in each competition.
DPI (Digital Projected Images). Images can be Colour or Monochrome. All entries MUST be titled (Federation Rules). All entries MUST show: (Members name - Membership number - Image title) in that order. All entries MUST be in jpeg format with a file size no larger than 450 Kilobytes. The image dimensions MUST be no more than 1024 pixels horizontal x 768 pixels vertical at a resolution of 72dpi. (Federation Rules). Points awarded are eligible for the Chairman’s Cup and Photographer of the Year. Any image entered MUST only contain an image or images originally photographed by the entrant. Up to 5 images only may be entered (Can be Colour and/or Monochrome) but only 3 will count in each competition.
Up To A4 Print Competition. Prints can be Monochrome or Colour and be produced on any medium. Prints may be trade or home processed or computer generated. Three prints may be entered. Print sizes 7” x 5” minimum to A4 maximum. Prints need not be mounted but MUST NOT show the name of the author. Judged in-club by all members. Any print entered MUST only contain an image or images originally photographed by the entrant. Competition does not count towards Photographer of the Year. A prize for the winner may be awarded. (To be decided by the committee).
Best of the Best. Entry to consist of: All prints and DPI that have been awarded 1st, 2nd, 3rd and highly commended in all the current seasons competitions. The judge will choose a winner from both sections - Print & DPI. Then select one to be “Image of the Year”.
The Winlaton Awards Winlaton cup - prints, and the Peter Driver Memorial Shield, PDIs These Awards are open to Photographers who have not won on of the Clubs major trophies for at least two years. All entries must have been taken since the start of the current season.
Marking System. Each print or PDI entered gets 5 points to begin with plus the judges award as follows: 1st 5 points = 10 total 2nd 4 points = 9 total 3rd 3 points = 8 total HC 2 points = 7 total All the rest get 1 point so that everyone who enters the competition gets 6 points for each picture entered.

THE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR. The photographer gaining the highest total of qualifying points from the above three competitions
THE BEST OF THE BEST. Here we take every image - B&W and Colour prints along with PDIs that have gained 1st, 2nd,3rd or HC in our competitions, these images are then judges to find the best images of the season - the Best of the Best!
THE JOHN RICHMOND MEMORIAL TROPHY. This is the first Trophy to be competed for in the season and it takes place as part of our Christmas social night, this competition is judged internally, and the winner one year is the judge for the next year. (Not counted towards Photographer of the year)
THE WINLATON AWARDS. This competition is open to all members of WCC who for the past two years have not won any of our major trophies, The competition is in two parts. THE WINLATON CUP - for prints THE PETER DRIVER MEMORIAL SHIELD - for PDIs (Not counted towards Photographer of the year)
