Consett Camera Club are holding their Annual exhibition of photographs at the Citizens House , Consett, on Friday 21st till Sunday 23rd of August open 10am till 4pm. Entry is free but teas and coffee are offered for sale - and for a little bit of FUN you can have your portrait taken !!
Yes it that time of year again, get the rainwear and wellie boots out because the Hoppings are here for the once a year race week visit, and that generally means bucket's of rain . . .
Loads of photo opportunities for all, and if the rain holds off, and it is looking good up to now why not pop along on Tuesday night. I'm sure that a few WCC members will be down there - so if you go, keep an eye out for a fellow member or two - make some good photographs and possibly see you latter on in the West End for a shandy or two.
On Thursday July 22nd - the doors of Durham Cathedral will be thrown open to photographers from 6:30 till 9:00. Refreshments are on offer, and weather permitting the tower will be open.
If any one is interested in going along I have the application forms and can send you a copy.

Just out of interest you can take a camera any time you like into St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican . . NO CHARGE!
and if I remember correctly to get right to the top of the dome was 7 euro , you take a lift on to the top of St Peter's then a very strange set of stairs to up to the walkway around the top of the cupola.
Club member Paul Watson, replied to an invite to submit images, on flickr - for the cover of Birmingham band Satchel Blue and their new album 'Another fine Day' - - and by some chance they selected my image 'Lime Green Coat'.
